Batteries are the heart of an electric vehicle, powering every ride with efficient energy. These lithium-ion batteries are composed of cells that store and discharge electrical energy through chemical reactions, delivering the power and range you need for your daily commutes and adventures.

However, like all things, these batteries are subject to wear and tear over time. EV battery degradation occurs due to charge cycles, operating temperatures, and usage time.

Let’s take a deep dive on how you can preserve the battery health of your VIDA V1:

    1. Ensure the 2 removable batteries are equally charged

In the VIDA V1, always try to charge both batteries equally, or at least at a ratio of 40-60 or 30-70. But don’t let the difference go down to 10-90. This balance ensures both batteries age at a similar rate, optimising the overall performance and lifespan of your scooter.

    2. Avoid draining out the batteries completely

Regularly running your battery to empty can shorten its lifespan. Instead, try to recharge at 20-30% levels. The MY VIDA App will alert you when the battery is low. For optimal health, avoid charging the batteries to 100% every time. Charging up to 80% works the best.

    3. Clean the batteries regularly

Please dry wipe your batteries and the battery compartment regularly with a microfiber cloth that comes with the VIDA V1. Keeping the batteries clean helps maintain good contact points and prevents any potential issues caused by dirt or grime buildup.

    4. Keep the batteries away from moisture

Moisture can damage the battery cells and electronic components. Always store your batteries in a dry place. The VIDA V1 is IP 67 & 68 rated water-resistant, so don't worry, your batteries are safe while riding in the rain.

    5. Ride smoothly for longer battery life

Frequent heavy acceleration and rash riding can put a significant load on your batteries, causing them to heat up and degrade faster. Maintain a smooth and moderate riding style to help prolong battery life and be safe on the road.

    6. Protect your batteries from extreme heat or cold

Regular exposure to extreme temperatures can impact battery performance and longevity. During summers, park your VIDA V1 in the shade to avoid overheating. During winters, park in a closed space, like a garage, to avoid direct exposure to cold winds.

    7. Create a balance between fast-charging and home-charging

While fast chargers are for your convenience on the road, using only fast chargers can lead to faster degradation of batteries. It is recommended to charge at home whenever possible for gradual, more consistent charging.

    8. When parking for extended periods, maintain a decent battery

level If you plan to park your VIDA V1 for more than a few days, ensure the battery is charged to around 50-60%. This helps prevent the battery from going into deep discharge, which can harm its health.

    9. Check battery health regularly

Regularly monitor your battery's health using the My VIDA app or during routine maintenance checks. Early detection of any issues can help prevent significant problems and ensure your battery remains in top condition.

Apart from all these, if you want to secure your batteries even more, we provide a 3-year warranty on both batteries as standard. We also offer an additional 2 years of extended battery warranty, giving you 5 years of complete peace of mind.

By following these tips, you can ensure the batteries of your VIDA V1 remain in excellent condition, providing you with reliable and efficient performance for years to come.

Happy riding!
